Summative: Script

Script

Narrator with fake Aussie accent: Okay guys! Today we are going to be stalking the worlds strangest apartment dweller, the Derpy Tesseract... *GASP*

Narrator with fake Aussie accent: The Derpy Tesseract is a humanoid similar to humans, but instead he has a head shaped as a 4-D tesseract!!

Narrator with fake Aussie accent: Because his face is 4-D, he has the ability to warp space-time. This allows him to manipulate light waves and so therefore he can transform his face into anyone or anything he so desires. Just note that the only thing that doesn't change is his tiny inner face that represents the derpy-ness he so is.

Narrator with fake Aussie accent: Here, we are going to zoom into his face, which unfortunately changed into Miley Cyrus :( As we zoom into his Miley face, you can kind of make out his true face of derpy-ness.

Narrator with fake Aussie accent: The Derpy Tesseract does this so that he can grab people's attention, and I'll explain why later.

Narrator with fake Aussie accent: As you can see now, The Derpy Tesseract is trying to lure this human into his bait.

Narrator with fake Aussie accent: Now you are wondering, what in the world does he even eat?? Well the answer is time, he eats time!!!!!! This is because his 4-D face does not accept 3-D objects, or else they'll be teleported somewhere else in the universe, just imagine a burger being discarded in the middle of space!!

Narrator with fake Aussie accent: Do you see now? How all of this is connecting together?? The Derpy Tesseract grabs people's attention so that he can waste people's time, and he consumes their waste of time as his meal!

Narrator with fake Aussie accent: What a fascinating creature!!! Oh what is derpy doing now? Oh no... IT'S TRANSFORMING INTO THE FIFTH DIMENSION!!!!!!

*Derpy Transforms*

Summative: The Character - Info and Design

My Character lives in an apartment, but he's no ordinary character, he is The Derpy Tesseract or just Derpy!!!!

Scientifically known as Derpius iCanScrewUrMindius, this rare species can screw with your mind by having a four dimensional head, but don't worry, his derpy face is still visible in the middle.

His entire body literally bends because his 4-D head can manipulate the light given off of his body. So what he can essentially do is change his body to look like whatever he wants. So don't be fooled, he might look like Obama, Miley Cyrus, or even you!!! The only part that doesn't change is the middle area of his face, which still possesses that derpy face of his.

For food, he eats time, that's right, TIME!!! He eats time by wasting your time!!! So remember to always waste your time, for Derpy of course!!

Now to bring The Derpy Tesseract to real life, here is an accurate drawing of his face:

My Thesis: My awesome desktops!

So you've seen many other people's take on their own personized desktop setup, now it is my turn to show off my awesome setup!!

So currently, I have made two setups:

  1. One on my own laptop + dual monitor setup.
  2. The other setup is at school on the school computers, because apprently I can get rainmeter to work on the school computers.
Here is my own custom layout on my Dual Monitor laptop setup!

I have a 21+" 1080P Monitor as my first primary display (left) and my 17.3" laptop as my secondary display (right). These two displays incoroperate different kind of themes.

Here is my layout on my primary 1080P display, which I use the most often.

  • I have the time bolded in the center, and the date on top.
  • I have put an even bigger date and a calendar on the left, the calender was custom skinned by me.
  • Below the calendar is a 7 day weather forecast widget that is really helpful for me.
  • On the right, I have a skin that acts like a sticky note to write some stuff if I needed to.
  • Below the Sticky note is another weather widget, but tells me for information about the weather.
  • Finally on the bottom, I have put a really cool music player that has a visualiser on top of it.
  • Also on the top, I have lots of minimal icons that allows me to launch my apps.
  • The top-right corner is where I have my one-click power toggles for my computer, and a volume rocker.

Here is my layout on my laptop display, which I use sometimes, mostly to glance at the time.

  • I have the time and date in the center. The time is kind of unique, as you can see that the green and orange shades fills up the time as the hour and minutes progresses. The little text below the clock shows the current weather conditions in just one word.
  • The text you see on the left is actually my menu for launching applications, which I can customize whatever apps that I want to run.
  • The rectangular translucent boxes are for my system info, displaying everything from CPU & RAM usage to how much space I have in my hard drive disks.
  • That little tiny thing in my top-left corner is my recycle bin. A simple right-click +Enter on it deleted everything.
That was my home/laptop setup, now here is my rainmeter setup that I have made during school time!

Thesis Proposal: Making Gorgeous Desktop Layouts!

Describe your topic:
My topic is about fashion and style, but taken on a whole new level! My subject is on Windows desktop computers, where usually your desktop is a huge mess, but I am here to show you how to transform your personal desktop from messy, into your own custom layout of pure awesomeness!

Idea:

My idea is to create a whole new User Interface (UI) for the Windows desktop layout's other than the classic old "icon packed" desktop. Essentially what you're doing is trying to theme/skin your desktop to match one's personal preferences or likings.

So for example, if one guy is obsessed with Call of Duty so much, he/she would skin their entire desktop layout with elements that has to do with Call of Duty, such as having a Call of Duty wallpaper with an analogue clock shaped has a scope of a sniper. Or you can skin it with one of those hacker screens with the green text, but instead you replace the green text with your time and date, and your system info such as CPU and RAM usage. You could even make miniature models of weapons from Call of Duty and move them anywhere on your desktop.

Do you see what I'm getting at? Sometimes people are bored of their plain old desktop layout (even if you have the latest version of Windows), and they just want something new and refreshing to look at. Whether you want your desktop to be themed as your favourite movie, or themed like the technological future, it's all up to you.

What medium will you be working with?
My medium will be mainly working on different software installed on my computer. The main software is called Rainmeter, the most powerful customization tool for pimping your computer. Also StarDock Fences is another software that I'll be using for a better organization of your desktop files and folders. Other unimportant software include DisplayFusion, and also I'll be working with wallpapers.

Style:
My style will be based off of a Minimalistic, Simplistic, and Modernistic kind of approach. I will incorporate those elements into the makings of a totally new UI for your Windows desktop.

 Example:

Examples of Minimal UI that are already seen in some popular UI's are Apple's new iOS with it's flat design, Android's newest Lollipop UI with it's minimalistic material design, and also Windows 8's metro UI.

But sometimes those UI are really boring, and so this is where Rainmeter will become handy.

These pictures listed below are some very awesome set-ups people have created with Rainmeter (found on Reddit [/r/rainmeter]), and all incorporate those modern/futuristic/minimal-like UI:

Thesis Proposal: Making Dance Music within 30 minutes or less (OLD)

Topic/Subject:
My topic is on music, specifically Electronic Dance Music (abbreviated EDM). I will challenge myself to create a decent EDM track within 30 minutes or less.

Medium:
I will mostly be working in FL Studio 11, a Digital Audio Workstation Software (DAW) for mixing and producing music, this is where I will be making my EDM track within 30 minutes or less.

Also in order to show proof that I've spent only less than 30 minutes, I will also be working in filming and video editing.

Style:
So I mentioned making EDM, this will be my overall style. I will try to replicate some popular sounding styles that some famous producers will usually use. Overall the style should be very exciting and happy sounding, the stuff you would expect at a dance party.

 Example:
So I actually have Soundcloud, with my producer name as "MoraLity".

This track (MoraLity - Modern Lifestyle) that I have made a few months ago is an example of what I will basically be making.
